Skylights
allow natural sunlight into your rooms or intended spaces
beneath, a great alternative to artificial or interior
lighting.
A wide range of MAXLITE®
Skylights have been designed and installed for canopies to
walkways, intricate cobweb designs to massive skylights.
At NYC, we give serious
attention to the supporting frames, adequacies of the clamping
extrusions, suitabilities of the covering materials,
detailings and the integral flashing system; so that our
skylights look pleasing and are virtually leak-free for a long
duration.
A variety of different covering
materials are available, such as glass, polycarbonate and
acrylic. Polycarbonate can be single ply or multi-walled
types. Laminated tinted glass and Double glazing glass panels
are common, while ceramic frit glass and energy-saving low-E
glass are also used for the higher performance skylights.
The above translucent,
materials can be combined with other opaque coverings to
create numerous skylight possibilities. The combination ratio and
patterns of the materials can be varied during the design, for
the intended amount and direction of the sunlight to be
delivered to the space below.
